You do not need to know what a MUD is to play one. Here is everything it takes to get into Phoenix Sagas.
Create a free account
An email and a password — register here. One account holds all your heroes, and browser play starts from it. Nothing to download or install.
Forge your hero
Click Play and the game walks you through it: pick a race and a profession, set your stats (or type random), and step into Coldhollow. It takes about a minute — and the hero you forge is claimed to your account automatically.
Read, type, adventure
You read the room, then type what you want to do. Eilwen will call your name at the fountain the moment you arrive — answer her, and the game teaches the rest as you go. Your first four commands:
Come back to the same hero, forever
No character wipes, ever. Every return visit opens on character select — type a number and you're in. Your account page keeps the trophy shelf: saga progress and permanent feats for every hero you hold.
Claim them once on your account page — the character's name and its own password (the one you already log in with) is all the proof needed. Or simpler still: sign in on the web and log into the character the classic way one last time; the claim happens by itself.
